Abstract

This study aims to determine the background, impact, and expectations of the gadget ban policy at SMK Negeri 2 Batang Hari. Data were obtained through interviews with the principal and a teacher. The results indicate that the cellphone ban was implemented in response to the rise in brawls between students triggered by negative interactions on social media. This policy has had a positive impact on improving learning focus and social interaction among students, although challenges remain in utilizing technology in learning. This study recommends a collaborative approach between teachers, students, and parents in the responsible use of gadgets.
